Prayers for Australia

  1. Bestest Friend @ 03 Jan 2020 06:31:51 AM
    At a time in need, we need to all pray for the land down under, it is being destroyed and over HALF A BILLION animals are dead, over 100,000 acres destroyed,
    countless people, etc. I know I dislike how Dave runs things but I hope to god him and his family and everyone else in AU is okay.

    :erm::erm::cry::cry::cry:

    I'm lucky too they came through here a few months ago.

    The volunteer fire fighters I've talked to, say they just can't put them out. They think they get them out then an ember just starts them off again. Its just too dry. Towns are running out of water and the temperature is rising.

    These fires have been going on for months.

    A new Prime Minister and funding returned to firies and rangers.

    at the moment people are donating to the rfs so the volunteers can have proper masks and gloves.

    or for koalas and wildlife

    The greenies disn't do any of that by the way..they just get the blame.
    They also make up a lot of the rural fire service.

    What is the solution

    there is no solution to the fires, Australia is prone to fires as it is due to heat and the amount of dry grass that is in the country, not to mention our Gum trees are eucalyptus which burns hot, combine this with wind and average 45°C (113°F) summer heat every year and you have a country that is going to catch fire the second someone even thinks the word flame.

    Well at least they should cut down all trees before fire reaches there.

    At least use that wood rather than letting it burn :heh:

    They must do that to some extent.. but I think you're misjudging the magnitude of the situation Heis.. that's a shitload to the power of shitload amount of trees

    Chopping the trees wouldn't do the ecosystem any good, our trees rely on heat to reproduce
