if we buy toilet paper and food or hide in our doomsday shelters would that help?

Dave is probably already gone, time to call ICANN and fork the domain to me. /s

    Hope everyone is safe.

Unless your a hermit, its unavoidable.
Decided to buy some cans of food before the panic buyers beat me to everything :haha:
    Events now cancelled here.

Schools are being cancelled here as well. Many people I know are being told to work from home for the next 2-3 weeks (if you have a job that allows that). :nut:

People like myself, who cannot do their 9-5 from home, are being told to drive into work if possible (instead of public transit), limit contact with the general public (locking doors, etc.) and the usual wash/sanitize/don't touch face. It sucks because a lot of employers are not offering paid leave for those 2-3 weeks so even if they wanted to stay home, they would not be paid. Shitty situation to be in.

I read that the plan for the virus is to let it run through the community so the survivors can build herd immunity. When the second wave of the virus comes through, most people will be immune and it will die out.
Not sure this plan will work for a virus. Maybe Havok can tell us if the virus would get more deadly or just hang around like the common cold

i read people who recover can lose 20-30% lung function. so letting it run its course does not sound like a good idea.

It appears it can cause permanent damage. Viruses evolve very quickly so nobody knows what it will do but we do know that the strain in Italy mutated and is more deadly.

The French health minister, Olivier Véran, who is a qualified doctor and neurologist, tweeted on Saturday: “The taking of anti-inflammatories [ibuprofen, cortisone … ] could be a factor in aggravating the infection. In case of fever, take paracetamol. If you are already taking anti-inflammatory drugs, ask your doctor’s advice.”

    ____

Italy has one of the oldest populations in the world.. the higher mortality rate reflects that there's more people in an at risk age group in Italy. It doesn't confirm a virus mutation.

There is research out of Italy that confirms the spike (s) protein has mutated from what the china virus has. Let me see if I can find the paper

Is this the paper you were looking for in NSR?:

Actually just found out what I am looking for isn't peer reviewed yet but I found what I was looking for in the genome data

In case the image doesn't work here's the link

There actually isn't many samples out of Italy so it's actually a Europe at large problem. The yellow clade is the mutated s protein that helps bind host membrane that makes it more transmissable and deadly. Europe is vastly over represented in having that strain

We don't need the Covid-19 Pro model yet..
It needs to get shitter not better
